A11:
Can you please provide the state you took the course? I can assist you further from there.
Q12: The video wasn’t working but now should be fixed.
A12:
The video has been re-added after technical issues on our end. A test check shows the video working properly. Please log back in to resume taking the course.
Q13: I’m trying to contact National Concealed Academy. Is this the right place?
A13:
We do not have your name on file with us. You may be trying to get a hold of the company "National Concealed Academy". They have no affiliation with us.
Q14: I’m not sure which company I bought from. How can you check?
A14:
Please send proof of purchase with the company name on it. There is a different company "National Concealed Academy" posing to be us. They have no affiliation with "National Carry Academy".
Q15: I see multiple charges on my account. What should I do?
A15:
Please send a screenshot of the transactions so they can be investigated further. As a note, the company is National Carry Academy, not National Concealed Academy.
Q16: How do I log in to the old OCT course site?
A16:
To access your previous account on the old program (changed in March 2020), use this link:
http://school2.onlinecarrytraining.com/login/
Q17: My MN Hybrid course is not showing up on my account.
A17:
The MN course has been added to your account, and your password has been reset as a precaution. Use the new password provided to log in.
When you get into your account, go to "My Account" and under the account dashboard you will see the course listed to start. Once you have finished, email back for dates and times for the required live fire shooting test if you have not already signed up.
Q18: I bought the MN Hybrid course. Where do I find the content?
A18:
If you have already purchased the course and registered, please log in and go to "My Account" at the top of the screen. From there you will be prompted to the next page where it will list the account dashboard. There you will see the list of states or courses you have registered for that can be selected to start.
The next page will have the course content and there you will see the option to click on the selected state. That will take you to the video and then the quiz after the video has completed.
If this still does not work, please send a screen capture of the issue so it can be sent to IT to be fixed asap.
Q19: What do I need to bring with me to the shooting test?
A19:
You are not required to bring anything. If you would like, you can bring your own handgun and 10 rounds of ammunition, but there will also be the option of renting a handgun with the included 10 rounds of ammo for the discounted price of $15 when you take the test.
If you bring your own handgun, please make sure that you bring it unloaded with the clip separated from the gun in its case along with the ammunition separated as well.
Q20: The Women’s Defense Academy course is not working.
A20:
Due to technical issues with the website, an alternate video link has been provided so you can watch the course by a different method:
https://youtu.be/WG1q-_Ej6K8
If you did get a full charge, please send back the last 4 digits of the credit card used when registering so a refund can be processed directly.
Q21: What is the login link for the new OCT school?
A21:
Use this link to log in:
https://school.onlinecarrytraining.com/wplogin/
Q22: The video is not showing up, only the quiz.
A22:
First, try changing browsers. Firefox is recommended because it has fewer problems with cache than Chrome. This is most likely a browser cache issue.
Here is a link to an article on how to clear your browser cache:
https://pagely.com/kb/en/clear-browser-cache-all-browsers/
After you clear your cache, log into the site and you should be able to access the video. If you continue to experience problems after clearing your cache and cookies, please let support know.
Q23: I took the video but can’t find the quiz.
A23:
The video and quiz have been tested and the quiz showed up at the bottom of the course after the video. Because it displayed correctly in testing and not on your end, this is likely a browser cache issue.
Here is a link to an article about how you can clear your browser cache:
https://pagely.com/kb/en/clear-browser-cache-all-browsers/
After you clear your cache, log into the site and you should be able to access the quiz.
If you continue to experience problems after clearing your cache and cookies, please let support know.
If you have purchased a MN course, it may be an issue with adding the course lecture to start the class.
Q24: I finished the video but the quiz still isn’t appearing. Can you force it?
A24:
Your password was reset to access your account and check the issue. The video is showing up as incomplete, which can happen if the page was exited before it finished, and it will not register in that case.
The quiz has been manually allowed to show up on your account to start.
Log in with the reset password provided. Once on the main page, select "My Account". On the next page you will see the state course you selected to start. Select it, and the video will be ready to start. Scroll to the end of the video and it will prompt the quiz link to show up at the bottom of the page directly under the "lesson content" tab.
If this does not work, it may be a browser issue.
Q25: I want a refund. What do I do first?
A25:
Please explain what your concerns are in more detail so they can be reviewed.
Q26: What is your refund policy?
A26:
Refunds cannot be given for change of mind or for not reading the “state laws” thoroughly. Please refer to the state laws section on the website for further information. The website clearly states to please read the state laws before purchasing as all sales are final.
The money back guarantee is honored after taking the course if your application is not accepted and is denied by the New Hampshire DPS, no matter the reason.
https://www.onlinecarrytraining.com/state-laws/
https://www.nationalcarryacademy.com/state-laws/
Q27: My password is not working.
A27:
Your password has been reset.
Website Link: https://school.onlinecarrytraining.com/student-login/
(Use the username and new password that were provided.)
Once you are logged in, go to "My Account" at the top of the screen. From there you will be prompted to the next page where it will list the account dashboard. There you will see the list of states or courses you have registered for that can be selected to start.
The next page will have the course content and there you will see the option to click on the selected state, which will take you to the video and then the quiz after the video has completed.
Q28: I can’t find the video/quiz on OCT after purchase.
A28:
Once you have purchased the course, go to the bottom of the page where it says "course list":
https://school.onlinecarrytraining.com/course-list/
Select the state that you purchased. On the following page there will be a title "Course Content". Just below that title there will be the "Permit to Carry Online Class". Once you click on that it will generate the video.
You will need to complete the video and test in the same session. If you do not, it will take you back to the beginning of the course where you will have to re-watch the video before taking the quiz.
Once you have finished the video you will then be able to click to take the quiz towards the bottom of the page.
Q29: My certificate will not download. Can you send a new one?
A29:
A new certificate can be generated for you. Please send:
Your name as you would like it to appear on the certificate
Your permanent mailing address
The date you completed the course
Q30: I lost my certificate and need a replacement.
A30:
A replacement certificate can be provided as an attached PDF file once processed.
Q31: How long will it take to get my permit after I apply?
A31:
The VA website states it takes about 45 days. Customers are told it can take up to 2 months tops.
Q32: Will this course get me my permit?
A32:
When you take the course you will get a certificate of completion. You then use that certificate to apply for your license with the appropriate agency.
Q33: What is the MN Hybrid course and how is it different?
A33:
MN is not included on the Virginia Non-Resident Permit Course. The home company is based in MN and offers a "Hybrid Course" that will allow you to get your MN Permit.
The Hybrid course includes online gun safety training and a one hour shooting qualification (in-person) at the range.
Shooting qualification requirements are left up to the discretion of the instructor. The student must be able to prove to the instructor that they can safely handle and discharge a firearm. The courses provide the necessary instruction for the students to achieve qualification.
Note: 10 rounds in one magazine is all that is required.
More info: https://www.nationalcarryacademy.com
Q34: Why is MN not on the list for the VA permit?
A34:
The VA permit does not include the state of MN, but the home base course does. The company is based in MN. You can apply for your MN permit after taking the "Hybrid Course" with your promotional voucher. In MN, individuals looking to get their CCW permit are required to take a course that includes an in-person shooting test.
The hybrid course allows you to watch the lecture online and then take a quick shooting test in person. It can be offered at the same discounted price used on Groupon plus an additional $20 for each student since the course is more involved. More info:
https://www.nationalcarryacademy.com/minnesota-purchase/
Q35: Who should I contact for specific legal questions about permits and laws?
A35:
For specific legal questions regarding concealed carry laws for the Virginia Non-resident permit or the Minnesota Permit, please reach out to the Virginia State Police or your local sheriff's station. They will be able to answer specific legal questions. The company cannot give legal advice.
Q36: How long is the Women’s Defense Academy course?
A36:
The Women’s Defense Academy course is exactly 1 hour 23 minutes and 50 seconds long.
Q37: Is the MN course BCA certified?
A37:
Yes. The course is taught by a BCA certified instructor as required in Minnesota.
NRA Certified Instructor: Nick Dahlberg
NRA Instructor # 184638738.
Q38: What happens after I get my certificate, and how do I apply for a VA Non-Resident permit?
A38:
Upon successful completion of the course you will be able to download and print the Virginia Resident/Non-Resident Certificate of completion. From there you can use your certificate to apply to the appropriate state/legal affiliation for your lawful permit.
For the VA non-resident permit, visit:

Q39: Is there a shooting test required for the OCT (VA) online course?
A39:
The VA non-resident permit course offered does not require an in-person shooting test to apply—only the certificate of completion from the course.
Q40: Which states are covered by the VA Non-Resident permit after taking this course?
A40:
The Virginia Non-resident Permit is available to U.S. citizens in all 50 states and allows you to carry concealed in the following 26 states:
Alabama*, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Idaho, Indiana*, Iowa*, Kansas*, Kentucky*, Louisiana*, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska*, Nevada*, New Mexico*, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia*, Wisconsin*, Wyoming
* These states require their residents to obtain their home state permit if they wish to carry concealed legally in their home state. Without your home state permit you can still travel legally concealed in the other states.
Please read the "State Laws" section thoroughly as all sales are final:

For confirmation, you can also contact the Virginia DPS at: nonrespermitquestions@vsp.virginia.gov
Q41: What is the New Hampshire CCW option and which states recognize it?
A41:
On January 1st, 2021 the state of Virginia stopped accepting this online CCW course for VA Resident and Non-resident Permit certifications. As an alternative, the company joined with the state of New Hampshire, which includes the same basic firearm training as the Virginia Non-Resident Permit course.
The New Hampshire CCW permit allows you to carry in the following states that recognize New Hampshire resident pistol revolver licenses (subject to RSA 159:3 and all applicable laws):
Alabama, Michigan, Alaska, Missouri, Arizona*, Mississippi, Arkansas, North Carolina, Colorado*, North Dakota, Florida*, Ohio, Georgia, Oklahoma, Idaho, Pennsylvania, Indiana, South Dakota, Iowa, Tennessee, Kansas, Utah, Kentucky, Virginia, Louisiana, West Virginia*, Maine, Wyoming
More information and the New Hampshire Non-resident permit application:
https://www.nh.gov/safety/divisions/nhsp/jib/permitslicensing/documents/dssp260.pdf
Q42: I took the VA version but now you use New Hampshire. Can I get a New Hampshire certificate instead?
A42:
The program has switched over to the New Hampshire CCW as it has the same credentials as the VA course. A new certificate can be generated for you for the New Hampshire course. It honors the following states:
Alabama, Michigan, Alaska, Missouri, Arizona*, Mississippi, Arkansas, North Carolina, Colorado*, North Dakota, Florida*, Ohio, Georgia, Oklahoma, Idaho, Pennsylvania, Indiana, South Dakota, Iowa, Tennessee, Kansas, Utah, Kentucky, Virginia, Louisiana, West Virginia*, Maine, Wyoming
If you would still like to proceed, an updated certificate and instructions to apply for your permit can be generated for you.
